A healthcare organization is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to join its team. This is a high-visibility role offering direct exposure to executive leadership and the opportunity to help modernize and strengthen the accounting function.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee outsourced accounting functions across AP, AR, payroll, and financial reporting
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and variance analyses
- Strengthen internal controls, processes, and reporting capabilities
- Manage and mentor a small team while coordinating with third-party providers
- Support complex accounting areas including construction/project accounting, leases, and debt
- Partner cross-functionally with finance and operations to drive improvements and insights
- Assist with audits, tax filings, and compliance with GAAP and nonprofit standards
- Contribute to system improvements and ERP initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA or Master’s degree a plus)
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Prior management experience (direct reports and/or outsourced teams)
- Public accounting or audit background strongly preferred
- Healthcare or nonprofit experience is a plus
