StevenDouglas has been exclusively engaged on a Senior Accounting Manager role in Austin, Texas.
**Essentially, this is a “mini-Controller” role within a larger Accounting function.**
Individuals should bring strong technical accounting along with an operational background and can navigate in a matrixed environment and lead a team of 5-6 people. This role requires a strong communicator, both verbally and in writing across multiple audiences.
We are seeking a results-driven leader with a combination of technical and operational accounting skills. This role will provide end-to-end controllership oversight and directly manage and develop a team of accounting professionals.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end close processes and ensure the integrity and completeness of the financial results, including oversight of accruals, key reserves and estimates, account reconciliations, fluctuation analyses, accounting positions, and related disclosures, ensuring alignment with US GAAP and reporting requirements.
- Lead and develop the team, providing clear direction, coaching, and performance management while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Serve as a trusted and strategic partner across cross-functional groups.
- Oversee internal controls compliance across related processes.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of accounting experience, including leadership responsibility
- Experience in public accounting and industry
- Actively licensed CPA
- Deep technical expertise in US GAAP and SOX
- Proven ability to lead, develop, and scale high-performing teams
- Experience with ERP environments
