Location: On-site – Plano, Texas, United States

Employment Type: Full-Time

Experience Level: 8+ years

Industry: Technology / SaaS / Data Platforms

About the Role

We are looking for a Product Manager Technical (PM-T) to lead the development of a next-generation, AI-powered Observability Platform that ingests, processes, and visualizes large-scale operational data.

This platform goes beyond traditional monitoring—evolving into an intelligent system powered by AI agents capable of:

  • Detecting anomalies
  • Diagnosing root causes
  • Recommending actions
  • Enabling semi/fully autonomous remediation workflows

This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, data, and AI, requiring strong technical depth in Elasticsearch, MongoDB, MERN stack, and modern data architectures, along with the ability to translate complex requirements into clear, actionable user stories and intelligent workflows.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Ownership & Strategy

  • Define and drive the product roadmap for the observability platform (logs, metrics, traces, job monitoring)
  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify gaps in monitoring, alerting, and analytics
  • Prioritize features based on business impact, scalability, and user value
  • Define and articulate a long-term vision for the observability platform beyond immediate requirements
  • Proactively identify emerging trends in observability (AI-driven monitoring, predictive alerts, anomaly detection, auto-remediation)
  • Anticipate customer needs and build features ahead of explicit demand
  • Drive innovation by proposing new capabilities, workflows, and insights that differentiate the platform
  • Think in terms of platform evolution, not just feature delivery (e.g., from monitoring → insights → predictions → autonomous systems)
  • Continuously evaluate gaps in current solutions and translate them into forward-looking product bets

AI Agent & Intelligent Systems Integration (Core Focus)

  • Define and drive the vision for AI agents within the observability platform, such as:
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA) agents
  • Anomaly detection agents
  • Alert summarization agents
  • Incident co-pilot / assistant agents
  • Design workflows where AI agents:
  • Interpret logs, metrics, and traces
  • Correlate events across systems
  • Provide actionable insights to users
  • Collaborate with AI/ML teams to:
  • Define model inputs/outputs and feedback loops
  • Ensure explainability and trust in AI decisions
  • Build human-in-the-loop systems where users can validate, refine, and guide AI decisions
  • Define guardrails, accuracy benchmarks, and evaluation metrics for AI-driven features

Product Management - Technical

  • Act as a bridge between engineering and business teams with deep technical context
  • Write actionable Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) adhering to client requirements and system architecture
  • Define system behaviors for both deterministic pipelines and AI-driven workflows
  • Ensure seamless integration between:
  • Data ingestion pipelines
  • Storage layers (Elasticsearch, MongoDB)
  • AI inference layers

User Story Definition (Critical Responsibility)

  • Write detailed, engineering-ready user stories with:
  • Clear acceptance criteria
  • Edge cases and failure scenarios
  • Data flow and API expectations
  • Break down high-level features into granular, sprint-ready stories
  • Ensure stories are aligned with system architecture and performance considerations

Observability & Domain Understanding

  • Define features around:
  • Log ingestion & parsing
  • Metrics aggregation
  • Alerting & anomaly detection
  • Pipeline/job monitoring (ADF, Airflow, etc.)
  • Design dashboards, KPIs, and drill-down workflows for users

Execution & Delivery

  • Work with engineering teams in agile/scrum setup
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release planning
  • Ensure timely delivery with high quality and performance standards

Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Define success metrics and KPIs for product features
  • Analyze usage patterns and system performance to guide improvements

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of:
  • Elasticsearch
  • MongoDB
  • MERN stack
  • Experience with REST APIs, microservices architecture
  • Familiarity with data pipelines and streaming systems is a plus

Product Management Skills

  • 6–8 years of experience in Product Management / Technical Product roles
  • Proven ability to build Product roadmap, PRD’s and enable engineering team with clear User stories.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with engineering teams in agile environments

Domain Knowledge (Preferred)

  • Observability / Monitoring tools (e.g., logs, metrics, tracing systems)
  • Experience with tools like ELK stack, Datadog, Grafana, or similar platforms

What We’re Looking For

  • A hands-on PM-T who can go deep into technical details when required
  • Someone who can think like an engineer and communicate like a product leader
  • Ability to convert ambiguity into structured execution plans
  • Strong ownership mindset with attention to detail

Good to Have

  • Experience in data engineering or backend development
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP)
  • Experience in building or managing observability platforms

Why This Role is Exciting

  • Opportunity to build a next-gen observability platform with AI at its core
  • Shape the transition from traditional monitoring tools to autonomous systems
  • Work on cutting-edge problems involving data, scale, and intelligence
