Rate: $120,000-$145,000/yr

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Technical Manager for a manufacturing client in the Charleston, SC area. The Technical Manager will serve as the primary technical authority for industrial manufacturing processes, while driving operational excellence, product innovation, and customer satisfaction. This individual will partner cross‑functionally to resolve complex technical challenges, support quality systems, and lead continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee metallurgical programs across different manufacturing operations.
- Drive improvements in product quality, performance, yield, cost, and cycle time using Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, DOE, and FMEA methodologies.
- Monitor enterprise process performance to ensure safety, first-pass quality, and productivity targets are met.
- Establish and refine procedures to meet customer quality standards, reliability, and delivery requirements.
- Serve as the Enterprise ISO Management Representative, supporting audits and ongoing ISO 9001:2015 certification efforts.
- Coach, train, and mentor teams on continuous improvement tools and best practices.
- Lead cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical and customer issues with a focus on quality, safety, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- ISO 9001:2015 quality system experience.
- 5+ years of experience using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPS, or Theory of Constraints methodologies.
- Proven ability to analyze data, define problems, and drive measurable improvements.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to varied audiences.
- Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional, enterprise-level technical initiatives.
