Mechanical Commissioning Engineer – Data Centers

L1- L3 range from $115,000- $155,000

Locations: Cedar Rapids, Utah, Atlanta and North Carolina (Onsite)

Other position available with extensive travel.


We are seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to support the testing, validation, and commissioning of mission-critical mechanical systems within hyperscale and data center environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Execute mechanical commissioning and performance testing activities.
  • Develop and review test procedures, scripts, and commissioning documentation.
  • Conduct QA/QC inspections of mechanical equipment installations and startups.
  • Review mechanical drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and vendor submittals.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), site testing, turnover, and punch list activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and project schedules.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1 years of data center commissioning experience.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC and mission-critical mechanical systems, including CRAC/CRAH units, BAS/BMS, VRF systems, humidification, and cooling infrastructure.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and P&IDs.
  • Knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid flow, heat transfer, and TAB processes.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
