Mechanical Commissioning Engineer – Data Centers
L1- L3 range from $115,000- $155,000
Locations: Cedar Rapids, Utah, Atlanta and North Carolina (Onsite)
Other position available with extensive travel.
We are seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to support the testing, validation, and commissioning of mission-critical mechanical systems within hyperscale and data center environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute mechanical commissioning and performance testing activities.
- Develop and review test procedures, scripts, and commissioning documentation.
- Conduct QA/QC inspections of mechanical equipment installations and startups.
- Review mechanical drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and vendor submittals.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
- Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), site testing, turnover, and punch list activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and project schedules.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 1 years of data center commissioning experience.
- Strong understanding of HVAC and mission-critical mechanical systems, including CRAC/CRAH units, BAS/BMS, VRF systems, humidification, and cooling infrastructure.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and P&IDs.
- Knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid flow, heat transfer, and TAB processes.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
