Job Summary

In this role, you will provide sustaining engineering support for dynamic motion and safety-critical systems, focusing on improving reliability, performance, and operational readiness. You will troubleshoot complex mechanical and structural issues, perform root cause and failure analysis, and develop engineering solutions involving mechanical, structural, hydraulic, pneumatic, and motion control systems. Responsibilities include designing and implementing modifications to welded structures, structural components, gearing, and fabricated assemblies, while performing the necessary engineering calculations and analyses to validate designs. You will create technical specifications, FMEAs, test procedures, installation plans, and maintenance documentation, while collaborating closely with technicians, maintenance teams, operations, vendors, and cross-functional engineering groups. The role also involves managing engineering projects from concept through implementation, supporting testing and commissioning efforts, reviewing technical drawings and documentation, and ensuring compliance with applicable safety and engineering standards.


MUST HAVE

7+ years of mechanical/structural engineering experience supporting dynamic motion systems, mobile equipment, or safety-critical machinery

Strong experience with mechanical design, structural analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis

Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and motion control systems

Experience designing welded structures, structural steel components, gearing, and fabrication processes

Ability to perform engineering calculations for mechanical, structural, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

Experience creating technical specifications, test procedures, FMEAs, installation procedures, and maintenance documentation

Proficiency reading and creating mechanical drawings and technical documents

Knowledge of servo controls, AC/DC motors, and motor control systems

Familiarity with safety-critical design standards

Experience supporting operational equipment in a sustaining engineering environment


Preferred

Theme park, amusement ride, Ride & Show, or attraction engineering experience

Allen-Bradley PLC experience

Motion control, animation, or show systems experience

Experience leading projects and coordinating technicians, designers, vendors, and maintenance teams

Experience with AC/DC motors and motor control systems

Master's degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Civil Engineering
