Key Account Manager

Position Summary:

The Key Account Manager is responsible for leading and expanding commercial relationships with a portfolio of strategic aerospace customers across multiple product lines. This role focuses on developing long-term customer partnerships, identifying and capturing new business opportunities, and driving revenue growth within both traditional aerospace and emerging aviation markets.


The position will develop and execute sales and marketing strategies that support short- and long-term business objectives while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction, contract compliance, and successful business execution. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, experience managing complex aerospace systems sales, and a proven track record in business development and contract negotiations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow relationships with assigned key customer accounts.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales and marketing plans to secure new business opportunities and expand market presence.
  • Recommend product positioning and pricing strategies that support long-term profitability and market growth.
  • Gather customer insights and communicate future market needs to support product development and technology roadmaps.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, and market developments to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Represent the organization at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to strengthen customer relationships and generate new business opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for assigned customers.
  • Manage contractual and commercial matters throughout the customer relationship lifecycle.
  • Ensure business performance aligns with financial objectives, including sales volume, pricing, funding requirements, and accounts receivable targets.
  • Coordinate sales administration activities to ensure accurate forecasting and alignment between booking and sales plans.
  • Ensure compliance with negotiated customer agreements, terms, and conditions.
  • Lead quotation and proposal activities related to technical modifications, including requirements analysis, cost evaluation, business case development, and negotiation planning.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, including program management, finance, legal, and engineering teams, to support contract negotiations and business execution.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with customers and strategic partners.
  • Support a culture of safety and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to health, safety, and environmental practices.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable trade and export regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required, up to 50%.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in aerospace sales, business development, or account management.
  • Demonstrated success in sales strategy development, contract negotiations, and financial business management.
  • Experience working with complex aerospace products or systems is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and negotiate effectively with customers and business partners.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach and strong results orientation.
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require.
