About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Specialist to join our team. This role will focus on maintaining, securing, and optimizing our internal systems and infrastructure. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in network management, device administration, and Identity and Access Management (IAM), with a hands-on approach to solving technical challenges.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the organization’s local and cloud-based networks, ensuring high availability and security.
- Oversee end-user devices (laptops, mobile devices, peripherals), including configuration, updates, and compliance.)
- Administer identity and access management systems (Okta, Azure AD, or similar), ensuring proper access control and governance.
- Collaborate closely with security teams to implement and uphold compliance standards (such as ISO 27001, CMMC, NIST, etc) across the organization.
- Implement and maintain endpoint protection, firewalls, and other security tools with the Cybersecurity Manager and Systems Administrator.
- Troubleshoot network and system issues, providing Tier 2–3 technical support.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline IT processes, enhance automation, and improve operational efficiency.
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation for system configurations, policies, and incident resolution procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, network administration, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of LAN/WAN architectures, VPNs, firewalls, and network troubleshooting methodologies.
- Hands-on experience managing and configuring Sophos XGS Firewalls and UniFi UDM Pro Max.
- Experience administering Google Workspace, including user management, groups, permissions, security settings, and policy enforcement.
- Working knowledge and hands-on experience with Generative AI (GenAI) technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs), Model Context Protocols (MCPs), AI tools, and agentic AI systems across various platforms and vendors.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Microsoft Azure, including services such as EC2, Compute, AMIs, S3, RDS, AKS, EKS, and basic cloud networking.
- Basic hands-on experience with Network Attached Storage (NAS) solutions in on-premises environments.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including the OSI model, common network ports and protocols, network security principles, and Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) concepts.
- Experience administering Duo Security, including implementation, user management, Single Sign-On (SSO), Identity Providers (IdP), Duo Authentication Gateway (DAG), and Duo Network Gateway configuration.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to support and maintain secure, scalable IT environments.
- Proficiency in IAM platforms (Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace, etc.).
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving, willing to grow, and strong communication skills.
