Information Technology Specialist

Job Description:

As an Information Architect on our intranet team you will play an important role on our intranet transformation project. This role will focus on understanding colleague and business needs to design an intuitive, efficient, and scalable information architecture for our intranet.

You will be responsible for creating the navigation, taxonomy, and overall content structure that will enhance user experience and support organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

• Understanding what employees need – talking to people across the business, running surveys, and looking at usage data.
• Designing how information is organized – creating the structure, categories, and navigation for the company’s intranet so it’s easy to find tools and content.
• Analyzing data and using AI – using analytics (e.g., Power BI, TyGraph) and AI tools to see what’s working, what’s not, and where to improve.
• Translating needs into plans – turning what employees and leaders say they need into clear requirements and recommendations.
• Presenting to stakeholders – building fact‑based PowerPoint decks and explaining/defending the proposed intranet structure to senior leaders.
• Working with a cross‑functional team – partnering with developers, designers, and business teams to get the new intranet experience built and launched.

Must Have Skills:

• 3–5+ years of relevant experience (not entry‑level; needs gravitas with senior stakeholders)
• SharePoint Online (intranet platform)
• Microsoft Office – especially Excel & PowerPoint
• Analytics/BI tools such as Power BI and TyGraph
• Survey design and analysis
• Knowledge management & taxonomy design
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees or certifications in Knowledge Management, Information Science, Library Science, UX are a plus
