The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented team player who will coordinate activities involved with procuring goods and services. You will oversee the entire order process. You will review proposals, negotiate prices, select the best suppliers, analyze trends, follow up with placed orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, for organization by performing the following duties.
- Receives sourcing guidance from Commodity Buyers to execute complex purchasing initiatives related to new program sourcing.
- Work with Commodity Manager to assist in the development of supply chain strategies.
- Leads development and implementation of cost savings ideas in accordance to supply strategies.
- Issue requests for quotation (RFQ).
- Negotiate long-term pricing agreements, final terms/conditions, and payment terms.
- Completes quotation analysis and necessary documentation for sourcing approval.
- Create purchase orders, manage contracts, and blanket purchase orders.
- Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance.
- Expedites delivery of goods and reports to users.
- Monitor supply base to identify and mitigate risk.
- Resolve supplier discrepancies.
- Establish excellent working relationships with suppliers, internal/external customers, and management.
- Lead and manage VAVE initiatives with suppliers.
- Perform other duties and projects assigned by the Purchasing Manager.
Education/Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university; with two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, and Power Point)
- Must be knowledgeable in sourcing commodities such as leather, foam, vinyl, cloth and thread.
- Must be able to read and interrupt prints.
- Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Must demonstrate strong analytical and negotiation skills
- Must have familiarity in developing “should cost” and an understanding of total cost management concepts.
- Must possess high level of integrity.
- Must have familiarity of incoterms and commercial terms.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
