POSITION OVERVIEW

The Shipping Manager — Warehouse Operations is responsible for executing and reinforcing operational discipline across the warehouse and shipping function to ensure consistent on-time shipment performance, warehouse organization, labor productivity, and shipping accuracy.

This role is operationally focused and floor-based. The Shipping Manager will lead daily warehouse execution, maintain shipment integrity, reinforce established processes, and ensure the operation performs consistently under daily production and shipping demands.

The operation is stable and functional. The primary need is strong operational leadership, accountability, and disciplined execution.

Shipping is a revenue-critical function. Product is not financially recognized until shipped. Performance in this role directly impacts:

  • Revenue timing
  • Customer delivery performance
  • Plant operational efficiency
  • Commercial account support
  • Chargeback prevention


CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Shipping & Warehouse Execution

  • Maintain daily on-time shipment performance goals
  • Coordinate outbound shipments and load schedules
  • Ensure shipping accuracy and shipment integrity
  • Reinforce warehouse organization and containment discipline
  • Monitor staging, product flow, and loading readiness
  • Reduce product search time and misplacement risk
  • Support efficient warehouse movement and material flow

Team Leadership & Accountability

  • Lead and supervise warehouse and shipping personnel
  • Conduct daily floor communication and operational alignment
  • Reinforce process consistency and accountability
  • Maintain visible leadership presence on the floor
  • Address operational issues in real time
  • Support a safe, organized, and performance-oriented environment

Labor & Productivity Management

  • Operate within labor and productivity expectations
  • Monitor staffing effectiveness and workload distribution
  • Support productivity tracking and reporting requirements
  • Flex operational coverage when shipment demands require extended support

Operational Discipline

  • Execute and reinforce established warehouse and shipping processes
  • Partner with Shared Services and plant leadership on implementation support
  • Maintain reporting accuracy and documentation discipline
  • Utilize operational systems and reporting tools effectively
  • Support ongoing operational consistency and process adherence

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Communicate effectively with Production, Scheduling, Sales, and Leadership teams
  • Coordinate shipment priorities and operational timing
  • Support customer communication when required
  • Escalate operational risks or shipment concerns appropriately

This is an operator and execution leadership role — not a systems architect or large-scale transformation role.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Warehouse and/or shipping leadership experience within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Experience supervising hourly employees
  • Experience managing daily operational execution and shipment coordination
  • Computer literacy including Excel and operational reporting tools
  • Ability to operate in both structured and partially manual operational environments
  • Willingness to support operational demands beyond standard hours when required


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or industrial operations
  • ERP or warehouse systems familiarity (AS400, SAP, or similar)
  • Experience supporting warehouse organization and process discipline
  • Exposure to labor productivity metrics and operational reporting

  • A desk-only logistics coordinator role
  • A fully strategic systems architecture position
  • A warehouse redesign or ERP deployment ownership role
  • A passive supervisory position removed from floor operations
