Warehouse Manager:
- The Warehouse Manager oversees all warehouse operations, including inbound/outbound shipments, equipment inspections, warehouse records, safety compliance, and staff training.
- This is a hands-on, working manager role requiring active involvement on the warehouse floor alongside staff to monitor efficiencies, assess performance, and build respect through direct leadership and support.
- The position also authorizes approved non-capital purchases for warehouse operations and drives productivity, safety, and operational improvement.
Responsibilities:
Manages and supervises all responsibilities associated with the warehouse operations. Establishes operational procedures for activities including verification of incoming shipments.
- Accepts authorized storage shipments
- Audits the documentation of proper shipment paperwork.
- Monitors inbound shipment volume to ensure sufficient warehouse staffing.
- Assigns crews to check and inspect vaulting of shipments for proper loading.
- Identifies and assigns shipments to be pulled in advance of delivery day.
- Investigates overages and shortages in the event of a claims situation.
- Assigns activities of employees.
- Ensures proper documentation of shipment paperwork.
Manages and supervises warehouse operations, assignments, training and safety.
- Schedules and documents inbound/outbound daily warehouse assignments.
- Provides training to all warehouse employees in packing and forklift certification.
- Enforces warehouse security and safety guidelines.
- Assures proper use and maintenance of all equipment.
- Determines and schedules preventative maintenance for warehouse equipment.
- Maintains low claims ratio as determined by AWCC scores.
- Ensures warehouse and yard are clean and organized.
- Recommends effective procedures to Operations Manager that influences the warehouse operations.
Completes training program and is certified to operate a forklift.
- Moves vaults throughout multiple locations in warehouse.
- Exhibits awareness of weight and way vaults are packed.
- Oversees operator safety and maintenance checks for forklifts.
Performs other duties as assigned by other members of management.
Knowledge & Skill Set:
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping/receiving, and logistics processes
- Working knowledge of warehouse safety standards, OSHA regulations, and forklift operations
- Ability to lead by example and work effectively alongside warehouse personnel in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong hands-on leadership and team-building skills
- Ability to identify inefficiencies and improve workflow productively
- Experience training employees on warehouse equipment and safety practices
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in warehouse systems and Microsoft applications
Qualifications :
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years previous Warehouse experience or Distribution experience, including supervisory or management experience.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
- Experience managing shipping, receiving, inventory, and warehouse personnel
