Warehouse Manager

This position is responsible for the safety, productivity, and efficiency of all union employees (3 shifts) and non-union supervisors. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years experience in warehouse management, equipment repair and vehicle maintenance. In addition, this role will be partnering with Inventory Management, Sales, Finance and Purchasing teams

  • Exceptional leadership skills, proven record of building a strong team and collaborate culture. Ability to lead by example with the highest integrity, professionalism and respect.
  • 7 to 10 years in a distribution management role working directly with and managing union employees.
  • Proficient MS Office 365 required. Systems background in AS400 and ProCat Distributions & Logistics are a plus.
  • Experience with Food Service product handling preferred. Experienced with FSMA requirements.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EEOC, regulatory agencies and applicable laws.
  • Exceptional organization, time management, customer service, employee documentation and problem-solving skills.


Responsibilities

  • Drive process improvement and cost reduction initiatives in support of ABL’s growth and new business opportunities.
  • Optimize distribution center performance through new systems and enhance standard procedures to improve customer service, safety, efficiency, accuracy, and product integrity.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule. Based on the needs of the business will be expected to work night, day or afternoon shifts. ABL Wholesale operates 24 hours Sunday night through Friday evening each week.
  • Partner and promptly communicate with HR on employee policy violations to ensure safety and prevent company risk.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in routing deliveries and managing a team of 30 + drivers.
  • Partner with HR Manager to recruit, hire, train and coach new associates; mentor and support the continued growth and development of all team members while providing the tools necessary to achieve individual and team success.
  • Work together with Purchasing Manager and Inventory Manager to execute warehouse operations best practices and system improvements by analyzing process workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • With Purchasing and Inventory Teams, determine product handling and storage requirements. Develop, implement and enforce procedures for receiving product, equipment utilization, inventory management, and shipping.
  • Direct and lead daily & weekly update meetings with supervisors and leads.
  • Direct and lead monthly meetings with each warehouse shift and drivers.
  • Partner with HR to develop union and non-union supervisor job descriptions and annual review forms.


Salary: $120-$135k


  • This senior management position reports directly to the President.
