Job Description

The Operator plays a crucial role in the production process, routinely utilizing molds and presses to produce first parts and regular production parts efficiently. This role requires minimal supervision and the ability to complete manufacturing assignments according to written procedures, recognizing deviations from accepted practices. The Operator must work well within a team environment, demonstrating strong collaboration with co-workers.

Responsibilities

  • Operate press machine to create parts using molds.
  • Clean and prime parts with appropriate chemicals and solutions.
  • Measure stock to ensure correct thickness and length.
  • Place various materials by hand into molds, mandrels, or build fixtures.
  • Weigh stock and scrap for salvage.
  • Monitor production for early defect detection.
  • Use production equipment and tools such as calipers and scales regularly.
  • Ensure materials handling recordkeeping complies with company and ISO standards.
  • Follow internal safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and hazard-free work area, including setup and cleanup at shift start and end.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Lead, Planner, Production Supervisor, or Module Manager.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Proficiency in reading a tape measure.
  • Experience using hand tools to fabricate parts.
  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Hand dexterity and production finishing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience as a Swing Calendar Operator.
  • Combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of exact education.
  • Skilled in using hand tools including calipers, depth gages, micrometers, and other measuring equipment.
Work Environment

The Operator will work in a dynamic manufacturing environment, facing variable environmental conditions such as temperature instability, atmospheric conditions including fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or vapors, and exposure to solvents and other industrial chemicals. The role requires comfort in lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mcminnville, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.30 - $22.00/hr.
