Shipping Associate

The Shipping Associate supports daily operations in a busy production facility by performing material handling tasks, assisting with manufacturing activities, and ensuring products and materials move efficiently through the warehouse and shipping areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform material handling duties within the production facility, including moving, staging, and organizing materials and finished goods.
• Assist with general labor tasks on the production floor to support manufacturing and assembly operations as needed.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely to handle, prepare, or adjust materials and products.
• Support basic assembly and production activities to help maintain workflow and meet production schedules.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to load, unload, and transport materials in a safe and efficient manner, if qualified.
• Help manage inventory by counting, organizing, and tracking materials and finished goods in the warehouse.
• Follow blueprints or work instructions when handling or preparing materials for production or shipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in both the production and warehouse environments.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times and follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with team members to identify and take on additional tasks and support areas that need assistance.

• Experience with material handling in a production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment.
• Ability to perform general labor tasks, including lifting, moving, and handling materials throughout the shift.
• Familiarity with manufacturing or assembly processes and working on a production floor.
• Basic proficiency using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Experience with forklift operation in a warehouse or production setting.
• Background in warehouse operations, including loading, unloading, and organizing materials.
• Experience with inventory activities such as counting, organizing, and tracking stock.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints or work instructions related to materials and production.
• Commitment to following safety procedures and wearing required PPE at all times.

• Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where team members actively look for additional work to support the operation.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with production and warehouse staff.
• Reliability and punctuality to support a consistent first-shift schedule.
• Ownership of a welding helmet and tools, enabling support of tasks that may require welding-related equipment.
• Flexibility to assist in different areas of the facility as needed, including production, assembly, and shipping.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility within a small, family-oriented organization of approximately 60 full-time employees. The position follows a first-shift schedule: 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Friday. You will work on the production floor and in warehouse areas, handling materials, assisting with manufacturing, and using tools and equipment such as forklifts, hand tools, and power tools. The dress code includes jeans, a T-shirt, and steel-toed boots. Personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and ear plugs, is required and provided by the company. Candidates must bring their own welding helmet and tools. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, MN.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Rochester,MN.
