Job Title: Logistics Associate

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts safely and securely to move goods, pallets, and equipment throughout the warehouse.
  • Load and unload pallets from trucks and storage areas into and out of the warehouse.
  • Verify that all loads are secure, properly stacked, and free of damage before movement or shipment.
  • Stage raw materials and products for production and return finished products to designated warehouse locations.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work area in accordance with company standards.
  • Complete the Forklift Operator Daily Checklist before operating equipment each day.
  • Follow all department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and related guidelines.
  • Connect and disconnect rail cars on a daily basis in all weather conditions.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties such as picking, packing, loading, unloading, and material handling as needed.
  • Learn and operate a turret truck and other warehouse equipment as required.
  • Assist with space allocation and utilization within the warehouse to optimize storage.
  • Transfer inventory between locations when required and support inventory control activities.
  • Use RF scanners and related tools to support accurate order picking, shipping, and receiving.
  • Support shipping and receiving tasks, including order picking, packaging, and staging for shipment.
  • Perform other related tasks and duties as assigned to support overall warehouse and logistics operations.

Essential Skills

  • Proven forklift operating experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or retail environment.
  • Ability to safely operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Basic math skills to support counting, measurements, and inventory tasks.
  • Ability to read and comprehend English to follow written instructions, SOPs, and safety guidelines.
  • Experience with shipping and receiving processes.
  • Experience with pallet jacks, including electric pallet jacks.
  • Experience with material handling, loading, unloading, picking, packing, and general labor tasks.
  • Ability to use RF scanners for picking, packing, and inventory control.
  • Forklift license or certification, or the ability to obtain it in accordance with company requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience operating reach trucks and cherry pickers.
  • Experience operating turret trucks or willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with warehouse inventory processes and logistics operations.
  • Experience with warehouse inventory systems and order picking tools.
  • Exposure to or experience with SAP or similar shipping and receiving software.
  • Ability to assist with space allocation and warehouse layout optimization.
  • Comfort working both independently and as part of a small team in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Willingness to work in varying workload conditions, from slower periods to very busy times.

Work Environment

The role follows a full‑time schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Work takes place in a brand‑new, very clean, and well‑kept warehouse facility. The team is small, currently around five people, which fosters close collaboration and clear communication. The position involves regular operation of forklifts, pallet jacks (including electric pallet jacks), RF scanners, and potentially reach trucks, cherry pickers, and turret trucks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Leominster, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
