Senior Project Manager – Utility Construction

Location: Blue Bell, PA


We are partnering with a leading infrastructure construction organization to identify an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee complex utility projects. This role is responsible for full project lifecycle ownership, including safety, financial performance, scheduling, quality, and client relationship management.


**MUST have electrical distribution, transmission and substation construction. **

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical distribution, transmission, and substation construction projects from pre-construction through closeout
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and high satisfaction
  • Oversee project financials including forecasting, cost tracking, change management, and margin performance
  • Utilize project performance tools such as Earned Value Management (EVM) to monitor cost and schedule risks
  • Review and manage contracts, change orders, and subcontractor agreements
  • Collaborate with field teams to ensure alignment between planning and execution
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Lead internal and external project meetings
  • Support documentation, reporting, billing, and project closeout
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including proposals and client presentations


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of project management experience within construction, ideally in utility or infrastructure projects
  • Proven experience managing large-scale projects with full financial accountability
  • Strong understanding of construction standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools (Primavera P6, Procore, or similar)
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with utility providers or similar organizations
  • Knowledge of permitting, right-of-way coordination, and utility relocation
  • Professional certifications such as PMP or OSHA 30
  • Strong client-facing, negotiation, and risk management skills
