Senior Attorney

Baker Sterchi Cowden & Rice LLC, a litigation defense firm with over 200 employees, has an opportunity for an attorney with 8 – 10 years of experience in all phases of commercial litigation. Some client following or demonstrated business development success is preferred.

Candidates must be admitted to practice in Oregon. Admission in Washington is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage file throughout litigation process independently and as a part of the team.
• Conduct fact investigations.
• Handle document productions and other discovery tasks.
• Prepare witnesses for deposition.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Prepare pleadings, briefs, and motions.
• Review and analyze policies, contracts, and other legal documents.
• Court hearing preparation and attendance including oral arguments of motions.
• Trial preparation and attendance including trial team support and direct and cross examination of witnesses.
