What’s the job?

The role of a Senior Account Manager (SAM) is to lead and manage a portfolio of key accounts, driving strategic growth and ensuring

successful execution of projects from conception to completion. The SAM serves as the primary strategic point of contact for clients and

provides leadership, mentorship, and direction to Account Managers and Coordinators on their accounts.

You will partner with cross-functional teams and clients to define objectives, develop strategies, and execute tactics that drive measurable

organic growth. You will own client retention and expansion targets across your portfolio, and lead the integration of digital strategies to

deliver results. The person in this role is a key driver of client satisfaction, organic revenue growth, and team development.

This position reports to the VP, Growth & Partnerships.

competitive landscape


Workflow

Financial management:

● Own the financial performance of your account portfolio with full P&L awareness, including revenue forecasting, margin

management, and budget oversight

● Identifying and executing upsell, cross-sell, and expansion opportunities to maximize client lifetime value and hit organic revenue

growth targets

● Confidently leading budget negotiations and scope discussions at the senior level, ensuring profitability while delivering value

● Commercially aware and profit focused

Project management support:

● Demonstrate quality project briefing and ensuring the agency produces the highest standard at all levels on every project -

on brief, on time and on budget

● Demonstrate proactive solution-based thinking and delivery

● Providing both strategic oversight and hands-on leadership across projects, ensuring the SAM role adds measurable value to

client outcomes

● Support the project manager(s) to ensure the highest quality of work is produced profitably, within available budget

● Produce work that the agency will be proud of


Communication

Presentation skills:

● Articulate and confident to lead senior level client meetings and presentations

● Able to sell ideas, concepts and work streams with conviction, enthusiasm, confidence and full commitment

● Able to oversee account workflow effectively, with comprehensive understanding of agency and client procedures and

systems

● Exemplary written and verbal communications skills

● Capable of outlining, organizing, writing and delivering major presentations/proposals


Knowledge

Marketing skills:

● Understanding of developing strategy, creative planning, and activation across client portfolios, leveraging agency

resources to deliver integrated solutions

● Comprehensive category/industry experience – confident and able to deliver market landscape analysis

● Adds significant value to client business through application of multi-disciplined digital marketing expertise and strategic insight

Brand knowledge:

● Responsible for disseminating and maintaining client’s brand knowledge throughout the agency

● Comprehensive understanding of client’s brand challenges and objectives together with detailed understanding of operational day-to-day
