TITLE: Sales Manager
SALARY: $70,000 - $120,000 per year
SCHEDULE: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm – In-Office & Field-Based
OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a dynamic and relationship-driven Sales Manager with a strong background in the water and wastewater industry. This pivotal role focuses on expanding our project pipeline and strengthening long-term relationships with contractors, engineers, and municipal clients across the region. As a key contributor, you will leverage your industry connections and market knowledge to develop new business opportunities, promote our capabilities, and support the growth of our service offerings. The ideal candidate is proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working both in the field and in a collaborative office environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new project opportunities with contractors, municipalities, and engineering firms. Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, electrical contractors, project managers, and other key stakeholders.
- Technical Promotion: Promote client’s capabilities in control panels, instrumentation, VFD systems, and SCADA integration.
- Lead Generation & Bid Tracking: Monitor upcoming projects through bid platforms, industry contacts, and direct outreach; track bid stages and maintain strong relationships with contractors and engineers.
- Relationship Building: Regularly visit city offices, municipal district facilities, and project sites to foster relationships with operators, maintenance supervisors, and public works leadership.
- Market Awareness: Stay informed on industry developments, upcoming projects, and key players within the water and wastewater sectors. Represent the client professionally at industry events when appropriate.
- Collaboration: Work closely with design teams, vendors, and internal colleagues to align project efforts and ensure customer satisfaction.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 3+ years sales experience in the water or wastewater industry, with existing relationships within the Houston/South Texas region.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of municipal infrastructure projects, equipment sales, or related technical solutions.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the designated region.
- Familiarity with bid processes, project sales cycles, and industry standards.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to travel regularly within the region, including visiting project sites and municipal offices.
- Willingness to work in various field environments that may require durable clothing and safety footwear.
MUST HAVES FOR ROLE:
- Utility Pants: Employees must wear durable utility pants suitable for the work environment.
- Safety Shoes: Steel-toed or other appropriate safety shoes are mandatory to protect against workplace hazards.
- Candidates must consent to and pass a background check and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
