Summary:
Our client is a leading designer and manufacturer in the automotive industry searching for a Production Manager. The Production Manager will monitor and lead daily production within this plant while reporting directly to the general manager.
This role requires previous experience in manufacturing
Production Manager Responsibilities:
- Manages and directs Production Supervisors include prioritizing and overseeing their work assignments.
- Responsible for the monitoring daily tracking and data entry of production, including but not limited to, through put, scrap, downtime, etc. into the Manufacturing Pro System
- Analyzes production data and implements production changes and/or preventative maintenance changes to increase efficiencies and reduce costs
- Assesses production equipment needs and providing solutions to improve department efficiencies and reduce costs
- Communicates and works with Maintenance Supervisor to develop and maintain a level production schedule that will meet customer requirements, such as but not limited to, higher inventory turns, lead time and earned hours
- Communicates and interacts with employees and Supervisors in a professional manner
- Assists in research and development projects as needed
- Responsible for quality procedures that affect this work area
- Work closely with General Manager and Human Resources to address environmental, safety and health issues
- Responsible for knowledge and implementation of company policies and procedures including but not limited to reviews, disciplinary actions, and use of employee personal protective equipment
- Responsible for the timely completion of performance records for all subordinates
- Responsible for ensuring housekeeping functions in work area are performed, including but not limited to: ensuring no trip hazards, organization, cleaning equipment, sweeping, mopping
- Responsible for ensuring that all safety equipment in the manufacturing area is in place and equipment can be operated in a safe manner
- Responsible for ensuring employees receive the required safety and operational/departmental training and that technical support is provided to them
- Participate in preventive actions where appropriate
- Conduct corrective actions and perform problem solving analysis and reporting as required
- Understand and ability to explain Company’s quality policy and environmental and safety policy
- Ability to explain how his/her position impacts customer satisfaction and contributes to fulfilling quality policy
- Understands how his/her role and responsibilities in achieving conformance to the Integrated Management System
- Understand and explain all relevant environmental policies, procedures and work instructions associated with his/her job description
- Be aware of all significant environmental impacts, actual or potential, of his/her work activities and the consequences of departing from specified operating procedures
- Conduct housekeeping for personal work area and shared facility space
- Observe and comply with all safety environmental, regulatory and statutory requirements associated with his/her job description
- Participate as requested in needs analysis and attend and perform the requirements of scheduled training and educational programs identified for his/her position
- Participate as requested for independent objective auditing activity and support company continual improvement activities
- Responsible for continuous improvement, eliminating waste and recommending solutions to problem solving/cost reduction ideas
- Responsible for helping to create and maintain a culture of open communication, trust, continuous improvement and performance with internal and external customers
- Perform other related duties as deemed necessary or assigned
