Job Title: Production Helper

Job Description

The Production Helper supports the manufacturing of aluminum powder by loading raw materials, operating screening and blending equipment, and handling finished product in an outdoor industrial environment. This role involves physically demanding work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold, while following strict safety protocols and working rotating 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the production of aluminum powder by loading raw materials into machines and removing metal as required.
  • Handle materials by screening, blending, and packing aluminum powder into 55-gallon drums, Supersacs, and railcars.
  • Operate blending towers and assist with furnace, screening, and blending operations to maintain consistent product quality.
  • Move packed materials safely and efficiently within the facility to support shipping and storage activities.
  • Perform general housekeeping and plant maintenance duties to keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Follow strict safety policies and procedures at all times in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Work effectively on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule, including day and night shifts, to support 24/7 operations.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring tools such as tape measures to complete production tasks accurately.
  • Inspect materials and equipment visually and through basic checks to identify issues and report them promptly.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and maintain smooth operations.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in manufacturing, production, general labor, or similar industrial environments.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ability to perform outdoor, labor-intensive work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and extreme cold.
  • Physical stamina to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and climb three flights of stairs to blending towers multiple times per shift.
  • Willingness and ability to work a 2-2-3 rotating schedule with 12-hour shifts on a 24/7 operation, rotating between days and nights.
  • Comfort working in an industrial manufacturing setting with year-round outdoor exposure.
  • Commitment to following strict safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Basic math skills to support measurement, mixing, and inspection tasks.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring tools such as tape measures.
  • Attention to detail when operating machines, handling materials, and performing inspections.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in general production, construction, assembly, or concrete work.
  • Experience with forklift operation or other material handling equipment.
  • Experience with machine operating or machine operation in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience performing basic inspection tasks in a production setting.
  • Ability to adapt to changing tasks and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability in attendance and performance.

Work Environment

This role is based in an industrial manufacturing facility with significant outdoor operations and exposure to the elements year-round. Team members work a 2-2-3 rotating schedule with 12-hour shifts from approximately 6:45 to 7:00, rotating between days and nights every 28 days to support 24/7 production. The work is physically demanding and involves climbing stairs, lifting heavy materials, and operating equipment such as blending towers, furnaces, screens, and material handling systems. Employees regularly use hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools such as tape measures. The environment includes areas of extreme heat and extreme cold, with small buildings available periodically for warming or cooling. Strict safety protocols govern all activities, and employees are expected to maintain clean, orderly work areas through regular housekeeping.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Palmerton, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $26.10/hr.
