As the HR Manager, you'll be a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for developing, implementing, and managing HR policies, programs, and initiatives that support plant operations. This role oversees all core HR functions—including employee relations, compensation, payroll, benefits, training, and staffing—to ensure a positive employee experience and strong organizational performance.


You'll serve as a trusted advisor to plant leadership, ensuring legal compliance, promoting a high‑performance culture, and providing guidance on HR best practices and emerging trends. This role reports directly to the HR Director, with a strong dotted-line relationship to the Plant Manager.


Responsibilities


Employee Relations & Policy Leadership

  • Ensure Amcor’s employee relations principles are consistently communicated, practiced, and understood across all levels.
  • Interpret and apply HR policies in alignment with plant goals and business strategy.
  • Provide coaching, counseling, and conflict‑resolution guidance to leaders and employees.
  • Lead and participate in employee engagement and improvement teams, encouraging proactive employee involvement.


HR Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, compensation, benefits administration, and performance management.
  • Manage payroll and maintain HRIS/automated systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain legal compliance and advise plant management on changes in employment law and HR regulations.
  • Support key HR initiatives including continuous improvement programs, affirmative action planning, integrations, acquisitions, and organizational restructuring.


Training & Development

  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver HR training programs that strengthen leadership capability and employee development.
  • Partner with managers to identify skill gaps, training needs, and development plans.


Strategic HR Leadership

  • Provide recommendations based on HR trends, workforce analytics, and emerging HR practices.
  • Operate independently and make informed decisions in the best interest of the organization.
  • Serve as a key strategic partner to the plant leadership team, ensuring alignment between HR initiatives and business priorities.


Qualifications


Required:

  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
  • Solid communication, coaching, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to present to large groups
  • Solid analytical and problem‑solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach


Preferred:

  • PHR/SPHR certification a plus
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Master’s degree
