Plant Controller

(Romeoville, IL - Hybrid)




Madison Street Search has partnered with a large, privately held global manufacturing company to identify a Plant Controller to join its finance leadership team. This role oversees plant-level controllership for the company’s largest U.S. manufacturing and corporate site, supporting cost accounting, inventory, month-end close, and financial reporting across a complex, multi-site operation. The position plays a key role in analyzing production costs, monitoring material/labor/overhead variances, and partnering closely with operations to drive financial performance.



This is a rare Plant Controller opportunity with strong visibility and succession potential within a growing global organization with operations across North America, Europe, and Asia. The role is highly hands-on, leading a small team while owning a fast-paced 3-day close, inventory accounting, and plant financial reporting. The company has a strong internal promotion culture and continues to grow both organically and through acquisitions, creating long-term leadership opportunities within the finance organization.



Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting required
  • CPA preferred
  • 6+ years of progressive accounting experience within large manufacturing organizations
  • Strong background in cost accounting, plant accounting, inventory, and month-end close
  • Experience with fixed assets, manufacturing operations, and financial reporting
  • Exposure to multi-site environments and consolidated reporting (preferred)
  • Strong business partnering skills with operations and plant leadership
