Position Overview
The Plant Controller is responsible for all financial management, reporting, and analysis for a manufacturing facility. This role serves as a key business partner to plant leadership, driving financial accuracy, cost control, operational insight, and continuous improvement. Strong standard costing experience is required.
This position is ideal for a Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager ready to step into a broader, hands‑on leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead plant‑level accounting, cost accounting, and FP&A activities in compliance with GAAP
- Own monthly close, P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis
- Manage and continuously improve standard costing (materials, labor, overhead)
- Partner with operations and engineering on scrap, yield, labor efficiency, and cost improvements
- Oversee inventory accounting, cycle counts, and physical inventory
- Support budgets, forecasts, KPIs, and financial models using ERP systems and advanced Excel
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/CMA preferred)
- 7+ years of manufacturing finance or cost accounting experience
- Strong standard costing, variance, and absorption accounting expertise
- ERP experience (IQMS/DELMIAWorks a plus)
- Ability to communicate financial insights clearly to plant leadership
