Chesapeake Search Partners is working with an established and growing construction company to identify a Payroll Manager. This role will manage the company’s in-house payroll operations and partner closely with HR and accounting to ensure payroll is accurate, compliant, and delivered on time. The Payroll Manager will also support payroll-related programs, maintain strong internal controls, and serve as a trusted resource for employees and leadership on payroll matters.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full payroll process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
  • Oversee payroll-related programs, including benefits contributions, corporate cards, reimbursements, and vehicle allowances
  • Maintain payroll and timekeeping systems, keeping employee records current and compliant
  • Review payroll data, resolve discrepancies, and ensure alignment with policies and regulations
  • Serve as the primary resource for payroll matters, collaborating with HR and accounting while identifying opportunities to improve processes


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of in-house payroll experience, managing end-to-end payroll operations
  • Strong knowledge of payroll, HRIS, or timekeeping systems
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance
  • Experience collaborating with HR and accounting teams
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to handle confidential information
