Job Title: Paralegal

Job Location: Richmond, VA 23219

Duration: Fulltime

Job Duties:

• Manage client case files and deadlines with a strong attention to detail
• Engage with potential clients through intake calls, ensuring they feel heard and supported
• Assist a team of five attorneys with drafting and proofreading legal communications and other case-related documents
• Prepare electronic and physical binders and exhibits for hearings, depositions, and trials
• Communicate with clients at various stages of representation
• Perform additional administrative paralegal duties as assigned, including sending retainer agreements, opening and closing client files, and handling filings, check-ins, and communications with administrative agencies and courts

Desired Qualifications:

• 1+ years of paralegal experience
• Completion of an accredited graduate or post-graduate paralegal program
• Strong computer skills, with experience using a practice management system (Practice Panther is a plus)
• Experience handling consultation intake calls and scheduling appointments
• Experience opening, maintaining, and closing client files
• Ability to perform legal research and proofread documents with accuracy and proficiency
• Litigation experience is a plus

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

• Ability to work in a general office environment, including sitting for extended periods with occasional standing and walking
• Visual capability to work on a computer monitor for several hours per day
• Ability to work in a shared office environment
• Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment such as phones, keyboards, and copiers for extended periods
