The ideal candidate will be responsible for the collection and organization of documents and information from various cases at the firm. This candidate should feel comfortable relaying messages between various groups and keeping all documents important to the cases they are working on organized. Seeking only candidates that work for law firms not corporations. Litigation paralegals preferred. Legal secretaries or legal assistants accepted as well.

Responsibilities

  • Client Communication
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients: schedule meetings, provide updates, and relay attorney instructions.
  • File Management
  • Maintain organized case files (physical and digital), ensuring all documents, medical records, and correspondence are current.
  • Drafting Correspondence
  • Prepare letters to insurance companies, healthcare providers, and clients under attorney direction.
  • Medical Record Retrieval and Review
  • Request, track, and organize medical records and bills. Review documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Calendar and Deadline Management
  • Track statutes of limitations, court dates, and other critical deadlines. Ensure attorneys are informed and prepared.
  • Discovery Support
  • Assist in preparing interrogatories, requests for production, and responses. Organize and index discovery materials.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a legal secretary, legal assistant, or paralegal.
  • Preferred experience: workman's compensation, medical records, medical malpractice
  • Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate preferred
