Job Title: Paint Process Technician

Location: Chattanooga, TN

Status of Hire: full-time, direct hire

Shift: 2nd shift 2:30pm-10:30pm with occasional weekends

Hourly rate: $34.72/hr

Reports to: Paint Supervisor

Robot brands: ABB

Type of position: Full-time, Direct Hire

Main Mission:

Maintain the paint production process (robots, booths, water treatment processes), follows paint process, ensure basic maintenance, analyze and correct deviations in such a way that equipment OEE is improved.

Main Responsibilities:

• Deploy paints standards during the production shift

• Start and stop the paint line according to production plan and safety rules

• Control automated paint operation and equipment (including robots)

• Check quality and conformity of the application process according to quality requirements and procedures

• Apply maintenance level 1 procedures for robots and all paint equipment (guns, jigs, etc.)

• Maintain paint applicators

• Minimize stops of the paint line

• In case of defects, contribute to root cause analysis, action plan set up and deploy the corrective actions within the shift

• Contribute to continuous improvement workshops; propose measures to improve product and process quality

• Follow up and continuously optimize paint consumption (primer, basecoat, clear coat, hardeners, and solvents, and rinsing solvent)

• May relieve fellow team members for their breaks

Requirements:

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in maintenance of paint application equipment; experience optimizing automated paint application processes and related paint delivery systems preferred

  • Technician certification with a specialty in hands-on troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, as well as ABB robots

  • Experience in troubleshooting ABB robotics and paint application process equipment

  • Computer skills

  • Proven problem-solving skills

  • Customer-oriented
