POSITION SUMMARY
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business by selling water sub-metering solutions to multi-family communities. This role focuses on lead generation, conducting site visits, presenting solutions, and closing sales while building strong relationships with property owners, community managers, HOA boards, and builders. The position requires independent field work, consultative selling skills, and collaboration with internal teams to ensure accurate proposals and successful project execution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities with property owners, property management companies, builders, and HOAs
- Conduct in-person sales meetings with decision-makers to present water sub-metering, billing, and utility management solutions
- Evaluate properties to determine sub-metering feasibility, system requirements, and potential cost savings
- Prepare and present proposals, ROI analyses, and cost-benefit summaries for sub-metering installations and services
- Negotiate contracts and close sales in accordance with company pricing and compliance guidelines •
- Achieve or exceed assigned sales targets and revenue goals
- Educate customers on water sub-metering systems, data collection, billing processes, and regulatory compliance
- Understand local and state water sub-metering regulations, utility rules, and conservation requirements
- Coordinate site visits to assess plumbing configurations, meter placement, and installation constraints
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with property managers, owners, and developers • Manage and grow existing accounts by identifying expansion opportunities (additional properties, upgrades, or services)
- Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the sales and implementation process
- Manage an assigned territory and develop strategic plans to penetrate target markets
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and property management association meetings
- Stay current on industry trends, water conservation initiatives, and evolving sub-metering technologies
- Participate in ongoing sales and product training
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- Two to three years of work experience preferred in outside sales
- Proficient in MS Office 365 including Excel, Access, and Word
- Experience with CRM applications is a plus
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize multiple demands
- Strong analytical skills with attention to details
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
