Manager, Warehouse & Equipment

FREEDOM BROADCAST GROUP LLC
Clifton, NJ

COMPANY OVERVIEW:

Freedom Broadcast Group is a New Jersey-based live sports broadcast production company serving major network clients — including CBS and ESPN — as well as collegiate and professional sports conferences. Operating from our Clifton, NJ facility, we deploy multiple fully-equipped production trucks each week to cover live sporting events nationwide, including football, basketball, and lacrosse. Our fleet includes eight HD mobile production units and REMI studios, supported by an extensive inventory of cameras, cables, audio, lighting, transmission gear, and technical accessories.

Our production season peaks from college football kickoff in August/September through the end of April, with consistent year-round activity and off-season maintenance periods.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a hands-on, highly organized Equipment & Warehouse Manager to take full ownership of our gear — from the moment a truck rolls back into Clifton to the moment it rolls out again. This is a critical operations role that directly impacts the quality and reliability of every broadcast we produce.

The right candidate understands broadcast production equipment at a technical level, thrives in a fast-paced environment where multiple trucks may go out on the same day, and takes pride in running a tight, accountable inventory system. This is not a passive role — you will be on the floor, hands-on, inspecting gear, logging everything, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

Post-Show Inventory & Equipment Accountability

  • Upon return of every production truck, lead the complete unloading and item-by-item inventory of all equipment — cameras, lenses, cables, monitors, viewfinders, intercoms, transmitters, TAC gear, and all accessories
  • Test all returning equipment; categorize each item as field-ready, flagged for repair, or retired for parts
  • Maintain real-time inventory logs using Google Sheets and/or Excel — updated after every truck return, not on an annual or periodic basis
  • Investigate and document any missing, damaged, or unaccounted-for items immediately upon discovery
  • Reduce equipment loss by ensuring zero items leave or return without being logged

Pre-Show Truck Loading & Prep

  • Coordinate with Technical Managers and the VP of Production Operations weekly to confirm gear requirements for each scheduled broadcast
  • Build and verify truck manifests — ensuring every assigned item is loaded, tested, and accounted for before departure
  • Manage simultaneous truck preparations on high-volume days when multiple productions depart on the same day
  • Ensure expendables, spare parts, and backup gear are stocked and accessible at all times

Equipment Maintenance & Quality Control

  • Maintain a live repair log and work with vendors or in-house technicians to resolve equipment issues promptly
  • Organize and clearly label all storage areas so gear can be located and pulled efficiently under time pressure
  • Oversee the retirement and parts-salvage process for gear that is no longer broadcast-viable

Fleet & Facility Management

  • Track preventive maintenance schedules for all production vehicles — including oil changes, inspections, and fluid services
  • Maintain up-to-date insurance cards, registrations, and compliance documents for the full fleet
  • Oversee all inbound and outbound equipment shipments from the Clifton, NJ facility
  • Ensure the warehouse facility meets safety and operational standards at all times

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse, equipment, or logistics management — broadcast or production environment strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of live broadcast production equipment: cameras, lenses, cable types, monitors, viewfinders, intercoms, transmitters, and general TAC/support gear
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel for inventory tracking and reporting
  • Valid driver's license (NJ/NY/CT)
  • Availability to work evenings and/or weekends in alignment with the live sports broadcast schedule
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, loading, and unloading production equipment

A STRONG CANDIDATE WILL ALSO BRING:

  • Direct experience working on or alongside mobile production units or broadcast trucks
  • Familiarity with fleet vehicle maintenance tracking and DOT/insurance compliance documentation
  • A background in live sports television — understanding the pressure of game-day deadlines
  • Experience building or managing barcode/QR-based inventory systems

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

Equipment loss is a real cost in this business. When a cable, viewfinder, or transmitter goes missing between shows, it delays the next production and hits the bottom line. This role exists to close that gap — with disciplined, consistent post-show inventory, every single time. You will have direct visibility into the health of our entire gear ecosystem and the authority to build processes that last.

If you are organized, technically knowledgeable, and take satisfaction in running a clean operation, we want to hear from you.
