Pay: $140,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
Why This Is a Great Opportunity
- Step into a high-visibility, high-impact role at a first-of-its-kind publicly traded energy company — your fingerprints will be on the technical accounting foundation from day one
- Own the technical accounting function with real authority — this is not a support role, it's a seat at the table alongside the CAO, CFO, and Audit Committee
- Work at the forefront of the energy-AI convergence on infrastructure that will power the next generation of artificial intelligence at unprecedented scale
- Build and scale a technical accounting function over time — this role has a clear runway for growth as the company expands
- Equity eligibility plus competitive base and annual bonus — total compensation is above market and structured to reward long-term value creation
- Partner with top-tier external advisors and auditors on complex, career-defining transactions involving capital markets activity, convertible instruments, and project-scale capitalization
- Be the go-to internal expert — if you've ever wanted to be the authoritative voice on technical GAAP in a high-growth environment, this is that role
Location: Based on-site in Dallas, Texas — a world-class city with a thriving business community, no state income tax, and a finance talent ecosystem that makes this a destination, not a compromise.
Note: This role requires a CPA in good standing and a minimum of 5 years of technical accounting or Big Four audit/advisory experience. Candidates without active CPA licensure and demonstrated SEC reporting experience (including technical memo authorship) will not be considered.

Job Description

- Lead capitalized project accounting including capitalized interest, capitalized labor, capitalized stock-based compensation, and placed-in-service determinations
- Drive SBC accounting for all equity awards: grant-date measurement, modification accounting, requisite service period determination, and the capitalization framework
- Analyze and conclude on debt-related accounting including modification vs. extinguishment analysis, embedded derivative bifurcation, and debt issuance cost allocation across senior secured facilities, equipment financings, and convertible instruments
- Support quarterly and annual SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, S-3) including footnote drafting and coordination with external auditors on technical workpapers and pre-clearance discussions
- Cover the full portfolio of applicable GAAP areas: revenue recognition (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), consolidations and VIE analysis (ASC 810), and equity method investments (ASC 323)
- Review contracts and term sheets for accounting implications — partner with Legal, Treasury, and the CFO organization in pre-execution structuring conversations
- Draft and maintain accounting policies, templated workpapers, and a memo library built to withstand auditor scrutiny
- Deliver periodic training to the broader finance team on emerging GAAP topics and company-specific policy applications
- Report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer and Controller; interface regularly with Controllership, FP&A, Treasury, and external auditors

Why You Will Love Working Here
This is a rare opportunity to join a newly public company at the intersection of two of the most consequential industries of our time — energy and artificial intelligence. You won't be maintaining a steady-state accounting function. You'll be building one, tackling complex transactions that most accountants see once in a career, and doing it alongside a leadership team that values technical rigor and clear thinking. Growth here is real: as the company scales, the function scales with it. If you want your technical accounting expertise to matter — to be seen, used, and rewarded — this is the environment to be in.
