At DIAZ SHAFER IMMIGRATION, we help our clients live, work and thrive in the United States, and we are really good at what we do. Reporting directly to the Firm Owner, the Associate Immigration Attorney will independently manage a diverse caseload—from initial intake through final resolution—including administrative filings, removal defense, and federal immigration court advocacy. You’ll lead strategic case planning, supervise support staff, and ensure timely, high-quality client service.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file applications for family-based and employment-based visas, permanent residency, naturalization, asylum, and waivers.
  • Represent clients before USCIS, EOIR (immigration court), ICE, and other immigration associated government agencies.
  • Coordinate with the Case Manager to monitor deadlines and case milestones
  • Review denied cases and draft appeals, motions, and briefs as needed
  • Maintain accurate and detailed case notes in MyCase and DocketWise

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school
  • Active, good-standing member of a U.S. State Bar (federal practice authorization required)
  • 3–5 years of immigration litigation and administrative experience
  • Spanish Speaking


Preferred Qualifications

  • Federal court litigation experience
  • Familiarity with AILA Link and similar research platforms
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish or additional language)

Compensation ($75,000.00 to $125,000.00 commensurate with experience, plus performance-based bonuses).
