Akkodis is seeking an IT Support Specialist for a contract role with a client located in Louisville, KY

Pay Rate: $26/hr.-$28/hr. (Hourly wage may be negotiable based upon experience, education, geographic location, and other factors)

Location: Remote – Must reside in Louisville, KY (local travel required, 75%)

Summary :

The IT Support Specialist will provide hands-on technical support for restaurant locations within the region, focusing on hardware, software, and network systems. This role ensures reliable technology operations, supports new system rollouts, and maintains connectivity for restaurant staff. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, experience supporting POS systems, and the ability to travel locally to assist multiple restaurant sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide onsite and remote technical support for restaurant IT systems, including hardware, software, and networking.
• Configure and deploy back-of-house (BOH) servers, manager PCs, printers, internet connections, wireless access points, phones, and POS terminals.
• Troubleshoot and repair issues related to cabling, TVs, jukeboxes, and other connected restaurant technologies.
• Assist with the deployment of new technology projects such as security camera systems, Toast POS implementation, and restaurant remodels.
• Participate in pre- and post-cutover activities, including testing and validation of applications and infrastructure components.
• Collaborate with the corporate help desk and third-party technology vendors to identify and resolve technical issues promptly.
• Provide end-user support and training to restaurant staff on system access, application usage, and device operation (KDS expo, monitors, card readers, terminals).

Qualifications

• 3+ years of IT support experience, preferably in a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of POS systems, network connectivity, and Windows-based hardware.
• Hands-on experience with system configuration, hardware installation, and cabling.
• Familiarity with BOH infrastructure, routers, WAPs, and printers.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to travel locally (25–30%) to restaurant sites as needed.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in IT or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
