BWC seeks Part Time Executive Assistant

Better World Collaborative (BWC) seeks an Executive Assistant to support the company’s growing docket of communications and social impact work. The Executive Assistant will provide ~15 hours per week of administrative support, including direct assistance to the founders, calendar and meeting management, and other functions to keep the business running smoothly. This role is a great fit for someone passionate about social justice, communications, and LGBTQ+ civil rights who has experience in business operations and/or organizational growth and development. Seeking social change champions who are eager to grow into the role as our company continues to expand.
Work may be done remotely; BWC’s two owners are based in Chicago, with a small team of additional employees across the greater United States.
About Better World Collaborative
BWC is a small, for-profit, LGBTQ+, woman and latine owned consultancy agency rooted in the creative arts. We focus on communications, capacity building, and social justice movement building. We leverage our experience working with nonprofits, arts organizations, and the public sector to build change models that support growth, improve communications, and foster community.
Job Responsibilities
- Organizational and logistical support
- Email triage, inbox management, and drafting responses
- Calendar management and meeting coordination, including follow-ups
- Coordinating travel and logistics for business trips
- Project coordination and task management
- Client-facing reception tasks and meeting preparation/materials
- Participate in and take notes during meetings
- Fielding and responding to inquiries
- Maintenance of filing systems and contacts databases
- Other proactive administrative and office tasks to increase organizational capacity
Required Qualifications
- No specific experience or education necessary but applicants must be 18+ years of age and authorized to work in the United States
- Familiarity with Google Suite, Microsoft Office (including Teams), Zoom, and other standard office software
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Commitment to social justice and alignment with the mission of BWC and partner organizations
- Ability to work flexible hours (with advance notice) depending on meeting schedules and content deadlines
Ideal Applicants May Also Have...
- Experience working with LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations
- Experience providing personalized administrative support
- Experience working across timezones with diverse teams and coalitions that include representatives from multiple organizations
- Familiarity with Canva or other basic graphic design software, Gusto (payroll), ClickUp (task and project tracking)
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Most of BWC's work is conducted virtually/remotely on computer
- This role may involve occasional opportunities for travel, but there is no travel requirement
Compensation
- ~15 hours per week
- $25/hour
