Junior Enterprise Architect


Are you passionate about technology, business processes, and how organizations connect strategy to execution? We're looking for a Junior Enterprise Architect.


This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their architecture journey who enjoys working with data, governance, technology portfolios, and solution design. You'll work alongside experienced architects, gain exposure to enterprise-wide initiatives, and play a key role in shaping how technology supports business objectives.


Charlotte NC area- Contract position with opportunity to extend well into 2029

Pay rate $$43-$48.60hr


What You'll Do

Enterprise Architecture Repository & LeanIX Management

  • Maintain and enhance our LeanIX Enterprise Architecture repository.
  • Update and manage application, interface, and technology fact sheets.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and alignment with EA standards.
  • Support application and technology lifecycle management activities.
  • Assist with workspace governance, permissions, tagging, subscriptions, and reporting.
  • Create dashboards and insights that support architecture decision-making.


Architecture Governance & Standards

  • Support the intake, review, and coordination of solution architecture requests.
  • Facilitate Architecture Review Board (ARB) processes and submissions.
  • Track compliance with enterprise standards, reference architectures, and technology patterns.
  • Document architectural decisions, exceptions, risks, and waivers.
  • Maintain architecture standards catalogs and technology reference models.


Partner with Senior Architects

  • Collaborate with Solution Architects and Domain Architects on strategic initiatives.
  • Gather and document architectural requirements and project impacts.
  • Participate in design workshops and architecture reviews.
  • Help map business capabilities to applications, technologies, and processes.
  • Maintain architecture templates, documentation, and reusable assets.


Portfolio & Lifecycle Management

  • Support technology roadmaps and capability assessments.
  • Assist with application portfolio management and rationalization efforts.
  • Monitor technology obsolescence and remediation activities.
  • Help maintain integration inventories and interface lifecycle governance.


Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop and maintain Enterprise Architecture metrics and KPIs.
  • Build reports and dashboards for leadership, PMO, and technology teams.
  • Provide portfolio insights that support investment planning and strategic decision-making.


What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–4 years of experience in IT, business analysis, solution architecture support, application portfolio management, or enterprise architecture.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture concepts, frameworks, or methodologies.
  • Experience with LeanIX, ServiceNow, CMDBs, or architecture repositories is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across multiple technology and business teams.
  • Curiosity, attention to detail, and a desire to learn and grow within Enterprise Architecture.
