PLASTICS ENGINEERING MANAGER

This role reports directly into senior plant leadership and works closely with operations, tooling, maintenance, and corporate engineering. The focus is execution, not theory. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and support technical staff responsible for daily manufacturing and process performance
- Drive process improvements across injection molding and extrusion operations
- Own tooling performance, mold and die upkeep coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead engineering projects including new equipment installation, equipment moves, and process changes
- Serve as the primary technical problem-solver for manufacturing challenges and recurring issues
- Maintain a strong floor presence and hands-on involvement with production teams
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of experience in plastics manufacturing
- Strong understanding of plastics processing, tooling performance, and manufacturing workflows
- 3+ years of experience overseeing technicians or technical staff
- Understanding of automation equipment and troubleshooting
- Proven ability to manage projects involving equipment, processes, and plant layout changes
- Hands-on mindset with a preference for being actively involved on the plant floor
