Location 

  • Hybrid remote work environment or based at FPS headquarters in Indialantic, Florida.
  • If hybrid, candidates must be able to maintain consistent availability during standard U.S. business hours and travel for in-person collaboration sessions at headquarters throughout the year.
  • Required on-site participation at the annual International Conference each June.
  • Approximately 20% additional travel for conferences, presentations, affiliate support, and training facilitation.

Job Overview

Future Problem Solving is seeking a collaborative, organized, and future-focused leader to serve as our next Engagement Manager. This role plays a central part in strengthening engagement, participant experiences, and program visibility across our global network of regional affiliates and partners in more than 12 countries and 33 U.S. states.

The Engagement Manager will help support and evolve the experiences that connect students, educators, coaches, Affiliate Directors, alumni, and partners to Future Problem Solving’s mission of developing critical and creative thinking skills through future-focused learning experiences.

This cross-functional role blends relationship management, educational program support, communications, event leadership, and digital engagement. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and systems thinker who enjoys building relationships, managing multiple moving pieces, improving experiences, and helping mission-driven programs grow and adapt in a rapidly evolving educational and technology landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Affiliate & Community Engagement

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day partner for Affiliate Directors supporting outreach, training, program delivery, and retention efforts that strengthen local engagement and long-term affiliate success.
  • Steward the global Student Advisory Council and related student committees, including the Topic Expert Research Panel Series.
  • Strengthen existing stakeholder relationships while creating new pathways for deeper engagement with Future Problem Solving.

Participant Experience & Innovation


  • Stay current with evolving technology and educational trends to help shape best practices that expand access, strengthen program delivery, and create engaging student experiences across learning environments.
  • Manage the delivery of the annual World Solutions Challenge virtual competition, an introductory experience for FPS’s signature Global Issues program.
  • Collaborate on the development and refinement of educational resources and digital learning experiences, including instructional videos and virtual content.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing optimization of registration, volunteer management, and engagement systems.


Brand & Communications Stewardship


  • Support affiliates in implementing FPS brand standards, annual program materials, and affiliate-specific website content updates through HQ-managed services.
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of annual program and promotional materials that support a unified and professional global presence.
  • Steward the FPS content calendar for Affiliate Director, coach, and student outreach across email and social media platforms.
  • Ensure consistency in tone, design, mission representation, and brand alignment across digital, print, and event platforms.

Visibility & Growth

  • Present at national and international conferences to promote Future Problem Solving programs and initiatives.
  • Lead efforts to ensure the organization’s Resource Library remains current, engaging, and useful.
  • Collaborate on the development of high-impact organizational publications and visibility initiatives.
  • Help drive the strategic use of CRM and related data tools to guide outreach, segmentation, engagement priorities, reporting, and tracking.


International Conference & Community Experiences


  • Serve as a core member of the International Conference leadership team responsible for programming, including ceremonies, sessions, competitions, Affiliate Council meetings, new Affiliate Director training, and student experiences.
  • Use firsthand experience and engagement data to improve organizational workflows, decision making, and affiliate experiences.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required.

3+ years of professional experience in education, nonprofit leadership, stakeholder engagement, communications, program management, event coordination, curriculum support, community engagement, or related fields preferred.

Strong relationship-building and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with educators, students, volunteers, nonprofit leaders, and global stakeholders.

Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and moving pieces simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking, presentation, and facilitation experience.

Demonstrated ability to think strategically while also executing day-to-day operational details with strong follow through.

Comfort working across evolving technology platforms and digital tools, including CRM systems, content management systems, virtual event platforms, and collaborative work environments.

Curiosity and adaptability in navigating emerging educational, technology, and communication trends.

Ability to work collaboratively across teams while also operating independently and taking initiative in ambiguous or evolving situations.

Passion for future-focused education, student empowerment, critical and creative thinking, and mission-driven work.

Experience supporting conferences, training programs, volunteer communities, affiliate/franchise-style networks, or distributed organizations is beneficial.

Experience with HubSpot, Canva, WordPress, social media management, email marketing, educational technology, virtual learning environments, or digital content development is a plus.
