What You’ll Do

Controls Engineering

• Maintain reliability and performance of machine control systems across the facility
• Design, program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC-based systems
• Develop and maintain PLC programs (Rockwell SLC 500, Logix 5000, Siemens Step 7)
• Work with ladder logic and function block programming
• Troubleshoot and enhance SCADA systems (Ignition preferred) integrated with MS SQL databases

Automation Engineering

• Design and implement automation solutions for new and existing equipment
• Lead system integration projects (robotics, vision systems, servo motion, material handling)
• Standardize automation architectures for scalability and reliability
• Support digital manufacturing initiatives (MES, SQL, reporting systems)

Electrical & System Design

• Develop equipment specifications with a focus on controls and electrical systems
• Create and review electrical schematics, panel layouts, and cabinet designs
• Support industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet, serial communications)

Operations & Continuous Improvement

• Partner with production and maintenance teams to improve performance
• Drive initiatives to improve safety, uptime, and efficiency
• Mentor and train team members on controls and automation systems

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Controls, Automation, Mechatronics, or related) or 7+ years of relevant experience
• 5+ years in a manufacturing environment (automotive or high-volume preferred)

Technical Skills:

• PLC programming (Rockwell, Siemens)
• SCADA systems (Ignition preferred)
• MS SQL / data-driven systems
• Industrial networking & communications
• Robotics & automation integration
• Electrical design & documentation
• Python (preferred)

Schedule & Requirements

• 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• On-call rotation required (including occasional weekends)
