About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Controls Engineer to design, develop, and implement control systems for Solaris automated equipment for large scale projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our equipment operates efficiently, safely and fully automated using PLC-based hardware and software. This role will work closely with Engineering to deliver reliable, scalable control systems with a strong focus on uptime and operations performance.
This is a hands on role suited for someone who is technically strong but also understands how systems come together and has the ability to contribute meaningfully across programming, troubleshooting, and system integration.
Essential Functions
- Develop and support PLC code and HMI applications for Solaris automation equipment.
- Program & troubleshoot issues with software and hardware as they arise during development, testing, production and operation.
- Contribute to system integration efforts across large-scale projects.
- Develop modular, reusable programming structures for scalable deployment.
- Troubleshoot issues across software, hardware, and operational systems.
- Support field commissioning, testing, and ongoing system performance.
- Analyze current processes and implement enhancements to increase productivity.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve reliability, uptime, and efficiency.
- Partner with stakeholder departments to accomplish productivity and manufacturing goals.
Experience/Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (electrical, manufacturing, or mechanical preferred)
- 3 – 5 years’ experience as a functioning engineer, controls engineering or automation
- Proven experience in automation, PLC programming, and HMI/SCADA systems.
- Proficiency in Allen-Bradley platform and networking protocols.
- Strong ability to diagnose complex electrical problems.
- Strong cause-effect analytical abilities to solve problems
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status
