The Role
Join an engineering-led organisation delivering complex automation and process control solutions.
This is a senior, hands-on Controls Engineering role requiring deep expertise in Siemens PCS7 and TIA Portal. You’ll lead control system design and delivery across full project lifecycles while mentoring junior engineers and acting as a technical lead.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead design and delivery of control systems for automation projects
- Program and configure Siemens PCS7 and TIA Portal systems
- Develop system architecture, control strategies, and documentation
- Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, and on-site startup
- Review vendor drawings and coordinate across engineering disciplines
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership
- Support project planning, estimation, and execution
Essential:
- 10+ years’ hands-on Siemens PCS7 and TIA Portal experience
- Proven delivery across full automation project lifecycle
- Strong PLC/DCS, HMI, and industrial control systems knowledge
- Experience with IEC 61131 programming and ISA S88 standards
- Ability to lead projects and support/mentor junior engineers
- Strong understanding of P&IDs, industrial networking, and system integration
Desirable:
- Experience with other platforms (e.g. DeltaV, Honeywell, ABB, Rockwell)
- Knowledge of SIS, MES, or PIMS systems
- PE certification and/or relevant engineering degree
