Bradsby Group is partnering with a well-established, privately held organization in the manufacturing industry to identify a Controller for their corporate office in the Denver Tech Center. This is a high-impact role responsible for leading day-to-day accounting operations, including month-end close, audits, and compliance, while overseeing and developing a large, multi-layered team.

**Summary**
The **Controller** is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations and ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of the Company’s financial reporting. This role provides strategic leadership for the accounting function, ensures compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements, and supports the Leadership with financial insights, analysis, and internal control oversight. The **Controller** leads and develops the accounting team while driving process improvements and operational efficiency across the finance organization.
**Essential functions**
Direct and oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, fixed assets, inventory accounting, and financial close processes.
Ensures timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (internal and external) are prepared in accordance with US GAAP.
Develop, document, and monitor accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure compliance, and support audit readiness.
Identify opportunities to streamline close, reporting, and manufacturing accounting processes.
Own the integrity of the general ledger and related sub-ledgers (inventory, fixed assets, AP, AR).
Manage cost accounting, including standard costing, inventory valuation, overhead absorption, variance analysis and margin analysis.
Review balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis; investigates and resolves discrepancies.
Oversee physical inventories, cycle counts, and related reserves and adjustments.
Lead and manage internal and external audit processes, including audit planning, documentation, and issue resolution.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, tax, and statutory requirements.
Partner with the Leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and financial planning initiatives.
Partner with Leadership on ERP optimization, reporting tools, and process automation.
Support cross-functional teams by acting as a financial and operational business partner.
Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
**Education and Formal Training**
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (required).
CPA required.
**Knowledge, Skills and Ability**
Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience. Minimum of 5 years of people management or leadership experience. Demonstrated success leading accounting organizations of 15–25+ team members. Experience in a complex, multi-entity manufacturing environment preferred. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience preparing financial statements and supporting audit/tax requirements. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Dynamics 365/Great Plains or similar) and advanced Excel skills. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and hold team members accountable. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with high attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal; ability to partner effectively with operations and leadership. Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information appropriately. High integrity, sound judgment, and strong ownership mindset.
