The Role
Most fitness jobs put a ceiling on you. This one builds a floor. As Community Manager at Fitstop Santa Monica, you are the heartbeat of the studio - the face members see, the voice that converts, and the energy that keeps people coming back. You will grow and retain our membership base through active lead conversion and proactive, in-person and outreach-based engagement, both on location and out in the community. This is a part-time, hourly role at 20-25 hours per week with a direct line to Fitstop's Global HQ team. You won't just run the day-to-day - you'll contribute ground-level insight to the strategy shaping how Fitstop grows across the US. For the right person, this is the first step into a full-time, salaried General Manager career with a global brand.
Key Responsibilities
Convert leads through phone, SMS, and face-to-face conversation - reach every new lead within 24 hours and turn trials and walk-ins into members. Grow and retain the membership base through on-the-floor relationship-building and proactive outreach to at-risk members before they cancel. Lead Fitstop Santa Monica's social media plan - capture and post content, and run member events, challenges, and local activations that drive belonging and referrals. Represent Fitstop out in the community through partnerships, pop-ups, and on-assignment outreach. Partner directly with Global HQ - report on leads, conversions, and retention, and bring your insight to a weekly planning meeting. Use Fitstop's CRM and content creating platforms accurately and uphold the best practice front-of-house standards Fitstop Santa Monica is known for.
What Success Looks Like
Consistent membership growth month over month. A retention rate that reflects a community people don't want to leave. A lead pipeline that is always warm and always moving. A social presence that is alive and engaging. A studio that runs like the best practice location it is, every shift.
About You
You don't need a decade in the fitness industry - but you do need to be the kind of person who walks into a room and makes it better. You are warm, driven, commercially minded, and genuinely passionate about people and fitness. You pick up the phone and start conversations rather than waiting. You follow through, take ownership, and see the bigger picture. Maybe you are a fitness enthusiast who has been waiting for the chance to step into something that fuels your purpose. Maybe you are working a role that pays the bills but doesn't feed the fire. Either way - if fitness is your world and people are your superpower, we want to hear from you.
