Position Title: Community Engagement Manager

Location: Johns Creek, GA

Reports to: Director of Operations


Since 1990,The Summit Counseling Center (The Summit)has been a trusted community partner; bringing hope, healing, and restoration to children, teens, adults, couples, and families. The Summit provides professional counseling, psychological services, school-based mental health, and community education services utilizing an integrated approach to care for individuals and families – Body, Mind, Spirit, and Relationships.


POSITION SUMMARY


The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for strengthening the organization’s presence, partnerships, and visibility within the community. This role leads outreach initiatives, cultivates strategic relationships, and connects community members, partners, and stakeholders with the center’s counseling services and programs. The ideal candidate is a relationship‑builder, strong communicator, and passionate advocate for mental health access.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Community Outreach & Partnerships

  • Build and maintain relationships with schools, nonprofits, faith communities, healthcare providers, employers, and civic organizations.
  • Represent the counseling center at community events, health fairs, networking meetings, and partner presentations.
  • Develop outreach strategies to increase awareness of services and advance the center’s mission.

Programs & Events

  • Coordinate community events, educational workshops, and mental‑health‑awareness activities.

Client & Community Connection

  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for individuals and organizations seeking counseling services.
  • Provide referral guidance and ensure smooth communication between the public and clinical staff.
  • Gather community feedback to support continuous improvement of programs and services.

Data, Reporting & Administration

  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, partnerships, event participation, and engagement outcomes.
  • Prepare reports for leadership, grant proposals, and board presentations.
  • Assist in meeting grant requirements related to outreach and community involvement.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, nonprofit management, public health, social work, marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–4+ years of experience in community engagement, outreach, nonprofit work, or relationship management.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and engage diverse communities.
  • Passion for mental health advocacy and mission-driven work.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • In office and in‑community work requiring occasional evenings or weekends for events.
  • Regular local travel to meetings, schools, organizations, and community sites.

  • Microsoft Office 365, Valant EHR and other designated software applications.
  • Telephones, copiers, and other office equipment.
