Managing Clerk

📍 Bergen County, NJ (Hybrid)


A mid-size law firm in Bergen County is seeking an experienced Managing Clerk to support attorneys and legal staff with court filings, docketing, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions. This is a key operational role requiring strong knowledge of court rules and filing procedures, particularly in New Jersey and New York.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of filing and e-filing in federal, state, and local courts
  • Review legal documents for compliance with applicable court rules and filing requirements
  • Maintain and oversee docketing and calendaring across multiple jurisdictions
  • Track deadlines and ensure timely filings and court submissions
  • Serve as a resource to attorneys and staff on court procedures and rule changes
  • Coordinate with courts, clerks, and external vendors as needed


Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of federal, state & local court rules - particularly New Jersey, and New York, Required
  • Proven experience with filing/e-filing, Required
  • Experience with docketing/calendaring across multiple jurisdictions, Required
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills


Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary up to $125,000 (non-exempt, DOE
  • Eligible for a discretionary year-end bonus
  • Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite after successful completion of a 90-day probationary period
