Pinnacle Search is working with a Mocksville-based manufacturing company that needs a new MRO Buyer for their procurement team! This position is open as a result of growth and will work alongside internal supply chain leaders to chart the strategy for MRO. This is a rapidly growing plant with a heavily automated production process so, a strong understanding of MRO is pivotal to production output. This role would be perfect for a procurement professional who enjoys creating processing, sourcing for new vendors, negotiating contracts, and building inventory systems. The start-up nature of this plant provides an opportunity for someone to own this category and build a procurement process that really works.
KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- MRO purchasing for spare parts, electrical and mechanical equipment, tools, cleaning agents, greases, oils, and solvents.
- Work alongside Engineers and Maintenance Technicians to identify which parts are needed on-hand, in what quantities, and establish a true min-max inventory system.
- Ask detailed questions of Engineering, Maintenance, and Production staff to ascertain whether the identified part is the best option for the job or whether a new part or vendor is warranted.
- Maintain relationships with up to 20 domestic vendors and establish relationships with new vendors when needed.
- Negotiate contracts with prospective vendors and work alongside international counterparts to take advantage of volume pricing opportunities.
- Manage purchasing and inventory flow for up to 8K SKUs with a max annual spend of up to $5M.
- Navigate the RFQ process and present prospective opportunities for better inventory strategy alignment to leadership.
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least four years of indirect purchasing experience.
- Experience sourcing new vendors, supplies, and negotiating contracts.
- Strong understanding of maintenance operations
- Experience managing domestic and international vendor relationships.
- Strong understanding of import regulations and the impact of lead times on maintenance operations to avoid production delays
