Our client is seeking a Buyer to join their Omnichannel Buying team. This role is a key strategic contributor responsible for driving the seasonal product lifecycle, financial planning, and large‑scale assortment architecture across a high‑volume sportswear business. Operating within a multi‑department category, the Buyer will manage a complex inventory structure of 350 go‑forward SCIs (Style‑Colors) and support the introduction of approximately 150 new styles each quarter.

The ideal candidate is an analytical, highly strategic merchant with deep menswear expertise and a proven ability to manage and scale large, multi‑tier assortments. This individual must be detail‑oriented, collaborative, and exceptionally strong in retail math, forecasting, and cross‑functional communication.

Key Responsibilities



Buying & Merchandising

  • Assortment Strategy - Lead day‑to‑day buying operations across 10 sportswear departments, architecting seasonal assortments that balance core, fashion, and seasonal capsules.

  • Product Curation - Apply deep knowledge of menswear fits, fabrications, and trends to build compelling, brand‑aligned product lines.

  • Seasonal Development - Partner with Design, Sourcing, and Planning to manage the full product lifecycle from concept through sample buy.

  • Attend market appointments and vendor meetings to refine merchandising skills and evaluate new product opportunities.

Inventory Management

  • Pricing & Margin Execution - Maintain accurate pricing, execute pricing updates, and support margin‑driven decision‑making.

  • Inventory KPI Tracking - Monitor inventory performance, delivery shifts, and supply chain impacts to adjust buys proactively.

  • System Accuracy - Manage order entry, SKU counts, and lifecycle transitions within PLM and ERP systems to ensure precise inventory management.

  • Maintain organized records related to orders, vendor communication, and seasonal workflow tracking.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Performance Reporting - Generate and analyze weekly selling reports, margin recaps, and seasonal performance decks.

  • Forecasting - Use historical and real‑time data to forecast demand, optimize buys, and support financial planning.

  • Develop documentation outlining reporting logic, data sources, and analytical frameworks.

  • Monitor sales, margin, and inventory metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.

Operations & Communication

  • Communicate merchandising strategies, pricing updates, and seasonal directives to cross‑functional partners.

  • Coordinate sample management, seasonal timelines, and administrative operations that support the buying calendar.

  • Serve as a collaborative hub between Planning, Sourcing, Design, Allocation, Marketing, and E‑Commerce teams.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Strategic, results‑driven mindset with strong business acumen.

  • Advanced analytical skills and mastery of retail math (turn, GMROI, OTB, margin).

  • Deep understanding of menswear product, fabrication, and category performance.

  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, PLM, and ERP systems.

  • Familiarity with Looker and emerging AI analytics tools is a plus.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 5-6+ years of progressive experience in apparel buying, merchandising, or inventory management.

  • Proven experience managing large‑scale, high‑volume assortments within menswear.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi‑department SKU structures and seasonal color hierarchies.
