Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist for a confidential client in the healthcare industry. This role is ideal for a professional with experience in skilled nursing, post-acute care, or healthcare billing who can manage resident billing, accounts receivable, census updates, and collections activity with accuracy and professionalism.

What You’ll Do

• Manage resident billing and accounts receivable functions for assigned accounts
• Review, enter, post, and upload charges and invoices into the billing system
• Generate, review, and distribute monthly resident statements
• Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances using approved collection procedures
• Document collection activity and escalate issues when appropriate
• Support accounts receivable review meetings by providing updates on delinquent balances
• Prepare eligible accounts for collection agency placement in accordance with company policy
• Maintain accurate resident census data, including admissions, transfers, and discharges, across billing and healthcare management systems
• Verify insurance coverage and complete pre-authorization checks for admissions
• Review admission and move-in documentation for completeness and proper filing
• Communicate effectively with residents, internal teams, leadership, and outside parties to resolve billing-related questions
• Meet established deadlines while maintaining compliance with internal procedures and applicable regulations

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate degree in accounting, business administration, healthcare administration, or related field preferred
• Skilled nursing billing knowledge required
• 3+ years of experience in a skilled nursing facility, long-term care, or post-acute environment
• 3+ years of experience with Medicare benefits, admission agreements, and private pay collections
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with billing systems and healthcare management software preferred
