Attorney

A well known client in Columbia is looking to hire a Workers Compensation Attorney. This associate Attorney will manage cases independently while collaborating within a well established, multi office firm.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze new and existing workers’ compensation claims to develop effective case strategies
• Manage a full caseload of workers’ compensation defense matters from inception through resolution
• Maintain consistent, professional communication with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel
• Review, analyze, and evaluate medical records and related documentation
• Draft pleadings, motions, and responses to discovery
• Take and defend depositions of claimants, medical providers, and other witnesses
• Attend mediations and represent clients during negotiations
• Appear at hearings before the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of Workers’ Compensation Defense litigation experience
• Experience representing employers and insurance carriers is required
• Active license to practice law in South Carolina
• Strong legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills
