About the Role

Title: Accounting Associate

Department: Finance & Accounting

Reports to: Director of Finance

Location: Round Rock, TX (HQ is 25 min north of Austin)

Type: Full-time, in-office

Compensation: $75,000-$85,000 base + performance bonus

The Accounting Associate is a core member of BPN's finance and accounting team, responsible for the day-to-day accuracy of our financial operations. This is a high-ownership role on a lean team. You will work closely with the Director of Finance and touch nearly every part of the business, from month-end close to treasury to compliance.

What You Will Bring to the Team

This role is built for someone who wants more than a narrow accounting seat. You will be exposed to the full spectrum of finance operations at a fast-growing DTC brand, working across month-end close, treasury, compliance, and budgeting while building the skills and context to grow into a senior accounting/finance role over time.

The ideal person is detail-oriented and technically sharp, but also genuinely curious about the business side of things. At BPN, accounting/finance is not siloed. You will interact regularly with other parts of the company and be expected to bring a problem-solving mindset beyond just the numbers.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support to senior leaders of current finance and accounting team
• Support and oversee month-end-close procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
• Ensure physical and book inventory are aligned and accurate
• Support treasury management functions, including AR and AP management
• Support annual third-party audit requirements
• Oversee and manage employee expense tracking
• Assist in managing the inventory management system
• Manage state-level sales tax tracking and compliance in Avalara
• Manage key vendor / payables relationships
• Provide ad-hoc analytics via Shopify, Tableau, etc.
• Support recurring budgeting / forecasting exercise alongside finance team
• Support other areas of the business as needed, including HR, IT and systems support

About You

• Undergrad and Masters in Accounting, preferred
• CPA, strongly preferred
• 1–2 years of audit/accounting related experience at “Big 4” (or equivalent accounting firm)
• Dynamic skill set and genuine hunger to “flex” into other areas of the business
• Experience in Microsoft Excel, required
• Experience in Quickbooks Online, preferred
• Experience in Claude Cowork, preferred
• Experience in ecommerce or omni-channel brands, preferred
• Located in or willing to relocate to Austin, Texas. HQ is in Round Rock, TX (25 minutes north of Austin)
